If I thought last month was busy, I don’t even have a word for what February has been. With seven clients on the books and several Blog & A Brand Packages that included site designs, social media profiles and print media designs, I’ve been up to my ears in things to do. But, it’s always a blessing to be working with such fantastic clients. Some of them repeat clients who have come back for a second site and more work; which always makes me happy. I love being able to do what I love and share my “talent” with others. (I emphasis the quotations around the word talent, because I really have an issue with self-glorification. Especially when there are so many other talented designers out there that I admire.)
Bree’s site has been in the works for several months, and it’s been worth every second of the wait to reveal this site. I love all of the sites that I create, and I could never in a million years choose a favorite, but this site was just so much fun. Bree’s focus is healthy cooking and living with a busy schedule. She’s looking to continue to expand her brand so a new logo to represent Skinny Mommy, LLC was created. She already had an icon that was prominent in her business cards and print material, so we made sure to match up the colors and incorporate that icon with the rest of her site. Danielle is an attorney and a recovering Compulsive Shopping Addict (no seriously…she pours her heart on her site about her addiction and her recovery from debt. SO very inspirational and heartfelt). When we first got started, she already had her color scheme picked out and directed me to a few images on Pinterest that reflected her style. The cat eye glasses and the kitten with the wispy tail were among the images that popped up. I spent some time searching and found the cat icons that are in her site on a Graphic Vector Site and was eager to include them in her brand. She was very specific on her style: The red lip and Joan from Mad Men look. And I was excited to have created something that she felt reflected her perfectly! When Tiffany first contacted me, I immediately knew that her site would be one of my favorites. She sent me a few clips of vintage luggage tags and modern vintage airline tickets that represented the feel she was going for. As a former Flight Attendant and now Air Force wife, being in the air is part of who she is. And she wanted her site to reflect that. We bounced around a few ideas for themes that would work until we finally settled on the new Cre8tive Burst Child theme from Genesis. It was as is if the new theme was made with her in mind. We swapped out a few things
and incorporated the luggage tag design on the landing page, and brought the airplane logo into different aspects of her site. We were both excited with the final result. [You can visit TiffanyHawk.com right here!]
Another fun project for me this past month! Meghan and I actually coordinated when designing her new logo. She had some ideas and I had some ideas and they came together great with a fun, funky and upbeat color scheme! She had a very specific request for her featured posts that really sent me on a learning spree, but I’m excited to have learned a new technique that I can now integrate into my designs and will eventually be adding to be my very first Child Theme for use with the Genesis Framework from StudioPress. Marissa is so incredibly talented you guys. She has such a fresh and unique style to her photos. She already has a website in place, but when she asked me to create a new logo and a new brand to go with her photography blog and website, I was more than willing to jump on board to work with her. We hit a minor bump in the road getting her site setup and domain registered, but in the end it was worth the wait. The simplicity of her site and the colors that she picked out make this one of my favorite blogs to date…not to mention, I’m always looking for a new photographer to follow and be inspired by. I actually have one more site from February that I’m putting the final touches on and two projects temporarily on hold from last month. Hopefully those designs will show up in March’s big post on all of my latest work. I have several projects on my list for this month and I’m excited about all of the work that has been done so far! I can’t wait to show you guys what I’ve been working on this month!
