Before I decided that I wanted to pursue a career as a self-taught Graphic Designer, I spent a lot (and let me emphasis the word a lot here) of time just looking at other blogs. Looking at the design, looking at the colors, looking at all of the things that made them beautiful. Not only did most of them have great content, but stellar graphics and just an all around pleasing atmosphere. I first discovered Lauren and Restored 316 Designs after Mary the Mommyologist received her first WordPress makeover. There was a little link at the bottom of the page that directed me to Restored 316. I spent hours looking at Lauren’s portfolio and even contacted her about a price quote to have my own site designed. Life and a move back to Alabama happened and I never got around to it, but I followed her blog and her designs from then on. Getting to know her through her Twitter and Facebook accounts and
stalking keeping watch on her new clients.
At the end of 2010, Lauren set out on another adventure with her business. A little something called Cuptakes: Wallpaper for Girly Girls.
In her words, here’s the lowdown on how Cuptakes came about…
As a graphic designer, I always liked to have a ‘girly’ design for my wallpaper on my iPhone. Noticing their was a lack of ‘girly’ wallpaper apps in the app store, we (my husband and I) decided to launch an app in the app store that targeted just to the woman market. So we launched the original Cuptakes app on Dec. 8th 2010.
After a couple months we decided to create a companion app for your Mac desktop to match the wallpapers from your computer to your Apple mobile device. This was launched on March 16th 2011.
With the continued success of Cuptakes, we then decided to launch a line of matching cases! This launched on Oct. 14th 2011. We have seen HUGE success in this, and we LOVE that people can now match their iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Mac Computer & Case with a Cuptakes design!
We plan to continue to expand the Cuptakes brand to offer some other great items in the future!! We currently have another app in the works that will be out shortly that we are super excited about!!
I don’t like to purchase apps from the app store, but when I bought my first MAC product (an iTouch early last year…) I knew that I wanted Lauren’s app on my device. I “splurged” and spent 99 cent to download it and now have it on every single one of my MAC devices (an iTouch, iPad and iMac). Not only are the wallpapers cute and easy to install, but they are constantly changing and evolving. Lauren creates new backgrounds to add to her collection every month, offering a wide variety of options no matter what you might be interested in.
In October, Lauren’s released the Cuptakes Cases and I hopped on board and purchased one right before Christmas (the Grey Chevron, in case you were wondering). The case arrived and took no time to snap onto my iTouch. It’s durable and offers easy access to all of the buttons, plugs and ports. And, it’s super cute.
Now Lauren is giving me the opportunity to give one of these fabulous cases away to one of my readers! Her cases fit the iPhone 3G/3GS, iPhone 4/4S and the iPod Touch 4G and come in a wide variety of styles, colors and patterns. And one of YOU will get to win one of your choice (a $34.99 value).

I will then pass the winners information on to Lauren who will contact you about collecting your prize.
And now for all of the legal stuff: I was not compensated for this review. The Cuptakes Apps and case were purchased by me, Courtney Kirkland and my opinions were shared here because this product rocks and my readers deserve to know how awesome it is. My opinion wasn’t influenced by money in any way.
