Make sure you head over to Reflections of Something today and check out my guest post on the importance and value of Me time! Branson has a fabulous blog and you guys won’t want to miss out on her! Go! Now [well, after you read this post…or you can read them simultaneously. However you choose…ahem.]
Like I promised, here are the answers to the rest of the questions you guys asked me!
If you could have any career (or careers) you wanted, what would you choose and why?
This was a tough one. I have too many passions and too many things on my “want to” list. But if I was truly honest with myself, I would have to say that I would want to be a writer. [Which, I guess I’m technically already a writer, but I would love to actually be getting paid for it.] Blogging has been a tremendous outlet for me; one that I will probably continue to delve into as long as WordPress is around. But if I had to make a career out of something, I would love to write novels and eventually see those novels made into movies. That has always, always been my dream and lifelong ambition.
What is the one thing I love most about switching to WordPress?
I like the style and the layout of WordPress. It’s much easier to maneuver, I don’t have glitches and 401 errors like I got with Blogger and everything is right there together. Definitely the smartest blogging decision I ever made.
What’s your favorite movie? TV Show?
Hmmm…I have a ton of favorite movies. I love Forrest Gump and Dirty Dancing. I adore every movie that has been adapted from a Nicholas Sparks novel…Gone with the Wind is a real classic and I watch it at least once a month. I love just about every romantic comedy. I could go on and on with this one. As for TV Shows…obviously Sex & the City; love me some Friends reruns. And I have the entire collection of Dawson’s Creek. Currently, my favorites are Grey’s Anatomy and Army Wives [which premiers March 6!]
What’s your favorite guilty pleasure activity to combat the blues?
I curl up with either a cup of coffee or a Dr. Pepper and watch sappy love stories. I can’t help it. Romance is my poison. 🙂 I’ve probably seen How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Sex & the City:The Movie 10 million times. It helps me to let myself get sucked into a movie for a little while and pretend my own issues don’t exist.
Tell us about your best “that mom” moment when you found yourself doing all all of the things you said you never would.
Oh boy. I wrote and entire post dedicated to this topic. You can find it here.
What are some of the things you do to make your husband feel special?
This is a fun question! I am all about the little things, so that’s where I get my ideas. I stick little notes in his lunch and around his desk telling him why I love him and how awesome I think he is. I make sure that we always have his favorite snacks and drinks in stock at home; I try to cook his favorite meals at least once a week. I keep his work uniforms clean and ironed because he hates to do laundry. My husband isn’t hard to please and he’s easily excited over little stuff, so those things aren’t hard.
What is your favorite place to vacation?
Driving across country we got to see a lot of new places; Wyoming is somewhere I’d love to go back to. Oregon was a beautiful place as well; I fell in love with the Blues Mountains. But I honestly adore Destin, Florida. We grew up a few hours from there and spent a lot of time in that area when I was in college, but I love, love, love the beaches there. Absolutely beautiful.
Where is your favorite place to have lived?
Well since the only places I’ve ever really lived have been in Alabama, Saint Petersburg, Florida; and now Alaska…I’m going to have to say Alaska. So far, this has been my favorite. Despite having no malls, no Target and no shopping [other than Walmart], the scenery is beautiful, the people are friendly and it just feels like home. Florida was too hot and Alabama was too sticky [humid] but each of those places hold special meanings, so I can’t completely rule them out as terrible.
That’s all for now! If you asked a question and didn’t see it answered on my Vlog or in this post, then stay tuned! That just means that I am planning to answer them in my next Vlog, which I’ll post later on this week!
